What Guests Are Saying
Platter Flats is praised for its cleanliness, convenient bathroom facilities, and beautiful views, particularly from the B loop overlooking Lake Texoma. Guests appreciate the quiet atmosphere, helpful staff, and well-maintained grounds, making it a favorite camping destination. Some minor issues include noise from other campers and the need for maintenance on picnic tables and ant control, but overall, visitors express a desire to return.

Let me start by saying the campsite itself was very neat and tidy. We had the perfect spot with a great view and plenty of space (A10). We camped on the equestrian side and my kids loved seeing all the horses and even got to ride and feed one with the permission of its owner!
But the reason for my low star rating and probably the reason I will never camp on that side of the property again (they live in a camper ride behind A10) is because we were babysitters for the groundskeepers 8 year old kid our entire stay. He was at our campsite from the moment we pulled in until 4 days later when we pulled out other than over night but would stay late into the night (like 11:00pm). Even with asking him several times to please go home, he would respond saying his mom said he could stay so I would have to get harsh with him for him to leave. He kept eating our food and drinking our drinks (an entire 12 pack of Dr Pepper and an entire box of juice over 4 days) without permission, if I tried to load my kids up in my car to drive to the swimming area he jumped in too, and would argue with me when asking him to get out. He then followed us down to the swimming spot and got in the water without his parents anywhere near, and later I found out they didn’t even know he was in the water (how scary!). He invited himself to my sons little birthday party and kept taking my kids bikes and then leaving them all over the place. I don’t mind when other kids want to come and play and hang out for a bit, but it was all day every day with his parents no where to be found. He even got pretty rude with my kids a few times. We couldn’t step foot out of our camper without him being right there. I just felt this was very unsafe for this child, the parents didn’t know who we were and I for sure didn’t know them. When I booked this campsite I was unaware of my roll as the groundskeepers babysitter, but I won’t make that mistake again. All we wanted was some quiet family time.

Notice alot of fire ants compared to other corp sites. Be nice to see a lot less the next time we go. That's the only negative thing about this place. Very peaceful and patrolled often by park rangers!
