About Murrell Park

Murrell Park offers day use facilities, boat ramp access and primitive camping on scenic Grapevine Lake, in the middle of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in Texas. The lake has become a premier recreation destination for the Southwest and offers some of the best camping, fishing and boating in Texas. This facility is open year-round, but particularly in hot summer months, the cool water provides a refreshing break from the Texas heat.

Perfect location and spread out camp sites. Only reason didn’t get 5 stars was toilets. They were filthy and covered with spider weds. Considering there are only two at the whole campsite, more regular cleaning should be conducted.

I did not get to use my reservation. As soon as I made reservation my grandson was taken to hospital so I had to go there.
So no true rating for this visit.

I really liked the park staff. They kept people that were not supposed to be there out and were very nice.

The staff are wonderful there! They make you feel like they care for you. Being a primitive park they now keep the grounds up on the sites to help. The only things I feel could be done is having some sort of light that goes on at night in the bathrooms and they are cleaned weekly. There lots of deer, birds, and other animals to enjoy watching. Hiking trails for those who enjoy and lots of people on bicycles. The staff, Park Rangers, and local police who patrol the Park makes one feel safe even if all alone in park. One of my favorite places!

Beautiful park, clean facilities with all the necessities. Life the proximity to northshore MTB trail, especially a section of the trail that is so family friendly. Twin coves is great but that side of the trail is too technical for my kids. We had a great time!
