Decent campground. The lady at the front gate was friendly. The park was clean but needed ground keeping. As we are in a trailer, we did not need to use the showers but I did stop in a bathroom while out on a walk. It was relatively clean but in terrible shape. There were signs stating that the showers were not available because they were being repaired. They were awful. I was happy I didn't have to use them. The site (09) was relatively level and fully shaded. But we were concerned the tree would fall down on the trailer. It was pretty brittle and there were various branches littering the site. But there was a nice covered table and a fire pit. Try to get a spot on the north end of the park. That area looked much nicer and was closer to the water. Overall, pretty decent. We camped at Bear Creek in a Travel Trailer.

We chose this campsite because it is close to our kids in Fort Worth. We planned to stay for 5 nights but we moved to Cedar Hill State Park after one night because of the restroom situation. Our campsite was spacious and had great lake views. We were right on the point and we saw a lot of birds. It was windy, but that is certainly to be expected on the water. . However, when we visited the closest restroom, which was not very close to us but we were able to walk, the restroom was in terrible shape. I don't know if they are recovering from flood damage or what caused the restroom condition, but it was not only unsightly, it was not clean and the showers were not workable and there was a sign saying to use the restrooms closest to the entrance. That required walking back to our campsite and driving a couple of miles. These restrooms have apparently recently been repainted and fixed up and we were encouraged. There are four separate shower rooms behind the restroom. However, although the showers were workable there was no hot water at all. We asked the very nice lady at the entrance to the park if this was a temporary or ongoing situation and she did not know. Based on this lack of reliable showers and the need to travel quite a ways to restroom, we will probably not return to this park, at least not until the issues are resolved.

Nice park but the remote control planes can get annoying. Wish it had fishing docks & a few sites that looked permanent (maybe camp hosts) could use some clean up.
Too crowded on one end of park, nice & quite where I was except for the planes
