Holiday (Texas)

We were in site 44. There are trees that provided lots of shade but needs trimming. We have no slides (30 ft toyhauler) and barely fit in the site. The park overall needs a lot of attention. Many trees are dead and need to be cut down creating safety concerns for some campsites. I realize that funding is down but what needs to be done to clean up the park could be accomplished in a couple of weeks.

This is a beautiful park with many shaded sites. We stayed at Site#13. When looking out our RV there is a lovely grassy area where deer and other wildlife gather in the mornings and evenings. So peaceful unless it is a holiday weekend. People and their children, when they see wildlife, think they are at a zoo and it's feeding or petting time. NO, just stand there, be quiet and enjoy the view - you cannot pet the deer!

Great site but very unlevel. ~6.5 inches off side-to-side on the pavement, so be prepared. Otherwise, great location and site.

Great spot. Shady, fairly level. A bit more traffic in this part of the park, but it is close to the gate and bathrooms.

The grass was very tall and needed to be mowed.

We loved the park and the lake is beautiful. Our issue was the knee high grass over the entire campground and so so many huge dead trees. Our site had one on it and we were worried if wind picked up or bad weather it could fall on our camper.

We arrived just as the office was closing but the attendant was very helpful and pleasant. Although we hadn't been to the park before, the site we chose was the perfect site. The only issue was the dump station at the rear of the park. The drive was very unlevel and there was NO water for wash down.

The employee at the gate was so kind and friendly. We feel safe here and love walking by the water. The grass needed to be mowed, although we were in between two bouts of rain. I do wish you could get in the gate after 10pm with the code because we were coming back from ft worth and almost didn’t make it because of traffic. Restrooms are not great, but are functional.

Grass was knee high, broken tree limbs hanging precariously, men's restroom/shower out of service in one building since December, new entrance gate broken, no sign of workers/camp hosts doing anything more than sitting in the gatehouse for 5 hours a day and circling the camping loop daily. Could be a lovely park with some actual work. Great location for access to Fort Worth and its amenities but know that you must return by 10pm or you'll have to leave your car outside the gate and walk to your campsite. What's the point of having a gate with code (assuming it is repaired)?!

My firepit was full of ash. I asked the host at the gate to have it cleaned and they came to the campsite to tell me that the Ranger said that cleaning the firepit was the guest's responsibility! UNBEIEVEABLE! Just what the campground needs - lots of dumpster fires! Guests do not carry the equipment to clean fire pits. Guests do not have any place to safely dispose of ash. Holiday campground needs a new change of management, from director on down to rangers.
