We inadvertently booked a double site, but since this was the first time out with our new 5th wheel travel trailer, the wider asphalt pad made it easier for me to get the vehicle into the spot.

Our camping spot had many beautiful trees and was shady. I also really liked the large covered pavilions that have a picnic table under each. The bathrooms are not the cleanest.

Excellent location, helpful staff on site. All sites are clean and most are large enough for large rigs.

This was our first big trip in our Class C RV and we really enjoyed our 7 days at Jim Hogg. Check in was a breeze, staff were helpful and very friendly. The site was level so no adjusting was needed. The site was large with some shade and a little obstructed view of the lake, but a convenient walking trail down to the lake. We used the shelter and cooked 90 percent of our meals on the fire ring grate and did not use the grill. The park filled up the Friday we arrived and we did have a neighbor who had multiple guests with perpetually idling diesel trucks, coming and going until the wee hours. But that was the only loud night and when the park cleared out Sunday/Monday it was very quiet and peaceful for daily walks chatting with other campers. The restrooms/showers are dated and so-so for cleanliness, but functional. Groceries and shopping are very close and convenient. We spent a day in Georgetown, toured local area breweries and a day in Austin with family and friends. Overall, we had a great time and very much enjoyed this beautiful park and would not hesitate to visit again.

The Campground was great. The reservation system needs improvement. The trees need trimming in the sites for big rigs not to get scratches when parking.
