Make sure you put away anything of value - security is lacking.

This was my first camping trip ever. The park was EXTREMELY clean; The site (47) where we camped and the bathrooms. The bathrooms were comfortable for our two day trip. They were hot but it was extremely hot outside. The only negative thing I could say is it needs a bit more ventilation. The walk from the site to the bathroom very manageable. The staff (Steve and the lady whom checked us in) were great. Steve allowed the kids to borrow his pool noodles for the lake. The lake view was great. You do that to climb down to get to the lake but very much worth it. There is wildlife so throw your trash out before you go to bed. The grill, water source, and electrical worked for us. There is a Randalls right outside the park so don't worry! Bring a LONG electrical cord. Great space. Great Price. Already planning my second trip!

Only complaint = Ants!
I strongly suggest to take ant killer with you - for they were terrible this year. We couldn't seem to get away from them.
Water was pretty low, but we still had a wonderful time :-)
Jim Hogg is a very nice park and we go quite often

The spot was shady and always love that the tables are covered. Had a good relaxing time. Quiet park.

Perfect place for us to get to know our new motorhome. It was quiet the entire time. Our lot was extremely shady. We already have reservations to go back

We tried to use the day-use restrooms once but were chased out by yellow jackets. Otherwise, it's a beautiful park.

The driveway pad that you park on was extremely eroded. It took us two hours to try to get level. It was a nightmare they need to be fixed. It was so bad it tore up five of my levelers that I will have to throw away and they are expensive.

Some sites are more level than others (which matters with an RV). Along those lines, site 53's drive is not that level, yet the back of the site leads directly to a path to the restrooms/showers. A trade-off, especially if tent camping.

Only stayed for one night while in transit between stops. The electrical at our site didn’t work, but for the short visit it wasn’t a problem for us. Very clean camp ground and not crowded at the end of March.
