We love the park, sites are spacious, having the covered shelter at each site is great and for the most part it is very quiet. This is the 3rd time we have stayed for 2 weeks in April.

The park and lake provide beautiful views. Sites are spacious. The only negative comment I have is the restroom were filthy and in disrepair. When a park doesn’t have full hookups, clean usable on site restrooms/bath facilities become much more important.

  • Camping by reservation only. Reservations must be made online through Recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777.
  • Gate house hours of operation are Friday through Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Hours may vary during Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day.
  • Gate house hours of operation are Friday through Sunday.
  • Maximum 14 day stay limit enforced. No extensions permitted. 
  • The number of personal vehicles per site is two. Additional vehicles are required to park in the overflow parking lot with the purchase of Daily Activity Pass and Additional Vehicle Pass provided by the Park Host at the gatehouse. Camping unit(s) on a campsite may include only one RV, one tent and/or two tents. The exception to these rules are the double sites in Jim Hogg Campground, in which they are allowed double the number of vehicles and camping units; i.e. up to four vehicles, two RV’s, and two tents per double site. 
  • Double campsites in the upper loop (D92, D102, D110, D140) only have one set of RV hookups.
  • Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
  • Do not feed the wildlife
