Love Jim Hogg Park, only criticism is that public seems to reserve campsites then not show up, leaving the site unoccupied when so many others would like to camp there

We were very disappointed that with a reservation we were not told the after hours code. One of us works and couldn’t come from out of town until 10:30 and called between hours told on email and they said we can’t give that out you just can’t come in after 10. We have been coming here for years and this is unacceptable.
Please make sure you treat your returning customers better.

We had a great time! The park was just what we were looking for. We loved sure 14 my boys played in the brush for hours and hours building forts and riding their bikes. We will definitely be back.

Quiet park, a lot of the sites are private ( not all so look on satellite image of map when booking) nice long trail for hiking and lovely sunsets over the lake. Bathrooms are a bit outdated but normally clean.

The lake is beautiful but the facilities are in terrible condition. The showers have no hot water and are on 30 second push button timers. We're going back to Bastrop next time.

We really enjoy this park. We've stayed here a few times and will be back next time we are in this area of Texas. Quiet, good size campsites, decently level and close to grocery stores and restaurants
