Jim Hogg Park

Wonderful place for a quiet getaway or family time. Comfortable sites with beautiful views. Paths to the lake from the camp sites.
This is well be recurring thing for the family.

We stayed 2 nights and tried to pick a spot in the shade rather than by the water. Although we did not pick well, there were better shade spots, the site was fairly level, large spots, and very comfortable.

Always enjoy our stays at Jim Hogg.

We had campsite 125 and 127. Both were excellent with a small trail connecting them, which made it great for the kids to go back-and-forth. The shade was a welcome relief from the heat and helped keep the camper cool during the day. While there is no water access at this park it was still enjoyable and we brought a swimming pool for our site for the kids to play in.

Need to get your trees trimmed to prevent limbs hitting the rvs.

We enjoyed our stay here. It was Fourth of July weekend and although it was packed it was still very peaceful. The bathrooms could use some upkeep but it’s a campsite so it works for what is needed. The only downside was that the employees at the front gate weren’t very helpful with instructions on overflow parking or insight to the sign hanging on the window advertising booking kayaks/boats. They did state they were both new. The site was as advertised and well monitored.

This was the first time me and my family went camping. The experience at Jim Hogg Park was phenomenal!! The staff was so great! We saw a lot of wild animals but they didn’t bother us. Luckily it was on a holiday weekend and the park was packed! We were able to see how others set up their campsite. We learned a lot and will be ready next year. Thank you Jim Hogg Park!

I stayed at Jim Hogg Park over the July 4th weekend, and even with the park completely packed, the staff went above and beyond to help me out during a stressful situation.When I arrived and got set up at my site, the power pedestal kept tripping, which meant I couldn’t run my AC in the high‑90s heat. Since it was already late in the day, I honestly thought I’d have to leave and find a hotel just to get through the night. I went up to the front gate and explained what was happening. The staff immediately contacted the park ranger, who came out quickly to check the site. They confirmed the pedestal was broken—but instead of leaving me stranded, they found an emergency site and let me move there even though the park was completely full. The ranger even stopped by afterward to make sure everything was working and that I was settled in.Their responsiveness, professionalism, and genuine care turned what could have been a miserable holiday weekend into a great stay. Huge thanks to the entire team at Jim Hogg Park for their exceptional service and dedication. Highly recommend this park—and especially the staff who keep it running smoothly even during the busiest weekends.
