Russell Park is a beautiful location with abundant wildlife and scenic views, making it a great spot for family camping. Many visitors appreciated the cleanliness of the park and the friendly park hosts, who contributed to a positive experience. While some facilities, such as the bathrooms and sheltered cabins, could use improvement, overall, guests enjoyed their stays and expressed a desire to return.

It’s really beautiful park lots of wildlife there the usual birds and squirrels but I did watch a little fox play for quite some time. The ground are reasonably well kept but the sheltered cabins need some work. many of the cabins I looked at screen had holes in it when I was in the screen was actually look like somebody cut it. The sheltered rooms may be OK for a straight down drizzling rain but when the wind is blowing the rain it comes right in. so beware. The bathroom certainly could use a little more upkeep but I’ve been at three different parks this pasy 2 weeks and it’s the same one way or another at all of them as far as the bathrooms go - camp host was friendly and out and about quite often through the park taking care of things - all things consideredI would probably stay there again.

Campsites were beautiful. When we arrived the restrooms were not clean but very soon after that they were great and stayed great the entire weekend. It was a good time with all the family. The baby fawn was a special treat. One of the kids found real antlers in the woods. Great experience for our city kids. One thing that would have made it perfect was to have ceiling fans the screened in shelters. It was hot. But, it is Texas. Thank you for taking such good care of the park.

Lovely park just a short trip from Austin! We had only one or two neighbors for our whole 4-night stay. Nice that this park is tent-only so no noisy big rigs coming through at night. Also LOVE the sturdy shelters over the table for when it was threatening rain! Excellent campfire ring and grill options. Note that the sites have pretty lake overlooks but are on a high bluff so no direct lake access, you have to drive to that.

We stayed at GS2 and it was a wonderful weekend. The group pavilion was very nice and large, the hosts were courteous and helpful and we will most likely be back.

When we arrived our parking pass was not available and our codes to the cabin did not work. It was like they were unaware or unprepared for our arrival. We finally get parking pass and cabin codes from the park host, but had to go looking around for him. The camp right next to ours had about 8-10 young men outside. They had started a fire that was not in the bbq pit despite the burn ban. They also stayed out talking, laughing, and going back and forth to their vehicles well passed 1:00 AM, way passed quiet hours. Park host did not patrol or at least did not advise them to shut it down.

I love Russell Park! It's so close to home, and easy to just pop over and camp for a night. The views are beautiful, facilities are decent, and it feels very safe.
