Excellent camp! Quiet & peaceful. Not too far from Belton, Round Rock, and Leander.

The reason that I am only giving a three star rating is because we had to move from our original site(22/sewer connection) to site 23( no sewer connection). The reason that we had to move is because the electrical breaker kept tripping off. This is a problem that we experienced on several occasions in past years. There doesn’t seem to be any effort put into upgrading the electricity at the parks on Granger Lake. All of the sites have 30 AMP electrical hook ups. We have used campsites at other parks in this area(GEORGETOWN, BASRTOP), and they all have 30, and 50 AMP hook ups. Most people who visit the parks today, have newer RVs and TRAVEL TRAILERS. They often require much more than 30 AMP hook ups. When I mentioned our electrical problems to the staff, I was told that they were aware of the problem, however, they stated that they thought the issue had been resolved. There doesn’t seem to be any communication regarding the status of repair work. The sites need to be taken offline until repairs are made, and verified. The restroom and shower areas need to be maintained better. There was only one restroom that was clean and didn’t smell bad. The only good comments I have are in regards to the front gate staff. They were instrumental in making sure that we were able to get another site, and have an enjoyable weekend. In closing, the people who oversee the parks, the decision makers, need to do a better job in regards to allocating funding and resources so that park visitors are getting their moneys worth. We deserve safe, clean, and fully functional parks and facilities.

Lake banks were not accessible from campsites and over grown, lake unmaintained especially near the banks

We took 4 kids where were expecting to fish and go swimming. There wasn’t a place to fish unless you have a boat. There was zero place to swim even though the website clearly states there’s a swimming spot.

No after hours access via pin code like a lot of ACOE parks. You are locked out till 6AM. Bathrooms were nice, but the showers work for 30 seconds and then cut off for 1 min + before they will work again. Very aggravating while trying to shower. Park itself is pretty nice though, quiet.

I have 3 horses and ride @ Willis Creek at least 2 x a week and love it. Was really suprised that the Equestrian camp was no longer available!!
As the point of camping was to be by my horses.
Other wise love riding at Willis Creek . Always feel welcome by the volentry attendants at the gate.
Grounds are very well taken care of and clean.
Lots of wild life ...very beautiful and peaceful piece of nature.

We stayed at this campground in site #20 for a week. We had FHUs with 30 AMP. First the sewer connection was higher than my RV connection. I had to go to other sites to find pavers and rocks to prop up the sewer hose, which didn't work. The grass was very high. I walked down to the boat ramp and there was a grill near by that was full of garbage and raw meat that was rotten. There also seemed to be a lot of trash around the park. It seems that this park is very neglected. Stayed at Taylor park before and it was nice. When I went to leave and dump my tanks there seemed to be something wrong with the sewer. It seemed that the vent was blocked. We will not be staying at this park again nor would I recommend it.
