The site was big and clean and the staff we interacted with were very friendly. Great place to watch the eclipse.

Two factors stand out as enhancing the experience at Fox. First, most (unfortunately not all) of the RV sites are VERY large with large separations between sites to minimize noise and maximize space for entertaining. Second, RV sites are very level, requiring a minimum amount of time to setup. Unfortunately, our last stay at Fox was marred by 3 loose dogs (or drop off's) which required two weeks to corral and retrieve by Animal Control; their leavings, noise, and harassment a thing of the past. But that was a one-off problem which should not be repeated. Our kayaking tour of the lake was delightful, and we look forward to continuing during our next visit.

There were 3 dumped dogs running around campsites getting into trash. The restrooms were filthy and showers did not work on the women’s side. The men’s restroom had a toilet that ran water all the time and the other was stopped up and full of paper and waste. When I mentioned this to a volunteer he told me if I was not happy maybe not come back. It would not make a difference because they were booked full all the time. I can only guess the amount of income lost to Corp of Engineers because no one was ever at gate to collect fees for entry of extra visitors. I was very disappointed.

The restroom and shower were nasty. Terrible smell from the urinal and one of the toilets was clogged with feces and paper during the 4 days we were there. The first night there was a large group of boys that were extremly loud well past the quiet hour. I saw a park voulenteer once per day at dusk. Years ago there used to be park rangers that would patrol regularly. I would think that the park host could at least pay more attention to the park since they dont sit in the guard shack anymore. What is their job anyway?

The site was nice, the covered patio at our site was great. It was an easy check in process online. The camp restrooms were extremely dirty. The path down to the lake had about 50 catfish carcasses along the path that someone had taken the meat off of and left. This brought vultures.

Spots near the lake can be very windy and if the wind is wrong you can enjoy your neighbors across the way camp smoke. The park itself is well kept and the camp hosts are good.
