Bring a lawnmower to mow the grass around the shelter.

As always, we enjoyed our stay very much. One concern - there were several very large (1 to 2 foot) fire ant beds in our site. Not good with kids or pets. We mentioned it to the attendants when we left. Otherwise, just perfect!

Overall this is a very nice park, but there were a couple of things that could be improved. The grass had been mowed in the wide open areas but it should be trimmed around the slabs and especially around the utility pedestals. The restrooms are only cleaned three times a week, Monday, Friday, and Saturday. They must have had a very busy weekend before we got there on Sunday because the restrooms were a mess. A little extra cleaning would have been good.

Gate attendants were nice as can be!! Park was beautiful and filled with blue bonnets. Peaceful stay and felt like a very safe park.
Only drawback was the grass was knee high. My husband had to go back home to get a weed-eater. Thank goodness we only live about 45 minutes away.

The site we selected really did not have a level ground area for our tent other than the covered cement pad that the picnic table was on. Luckily, we were able to set the tent up on that pad, and only because the table was not chained to the pad and we were able to move it to one side of the pad. This worked out great actually, because the tent was under the shelter and stayed dry. The site is obviously geared for RVs but it would be nice to know specifics about suitability for tents if that's all you've got!
The park was nice, park hosts were friendly. Lots of travel trailers and boats.
