Upon arrival the pavilion was not mowed. The tables were full of bird droppings. There were spider webs everywhere. The entire shelter was very dirty. There was no water hose that we could have at least sprayed the area down. Luckily I brought table cloths to cover the tables. I could not believe how dirty it was. This was rented for a family reunion. The grass not being mowed was a health and safety issue due to snakes and critters. Needless to say we were not happy.

The rv spots are very nice. The only complaint is that there are no sewer hook up and the park closes at 10:00 P. M. You would think that a Corp of engineers facility could figure out how to incorporate sewer hook ups.

Grass is very high, witch makes bugs really bad. The gate that comes in to camping area broken so anybody can just enter. The front gate has been broken off and on since they out it in.

The volunteer hosts are very friendly and eager to help. The people that are under contract appear to be doing nothing. We have been here a week in May, then we left and came back for 2 weeks in June. In all that time the grass has not been mowed, garbage stacks up to overflowing before it is picked up, and worst of all the closed in shelters have never been cleaned. I will have to do a total cleaning before our son and grandkids can get into the shelter we will rent this weekend. Floors have blood and dirt that has never been swept out. Cob web in the bunk beds. Sink and counter are filthy. We looked In 2 different shelters and both are not useable. This park is definitely below the lowest standards and it is such a pretty lake and could be a wonderful place to stay. Highly disappointed!!! We are retired and travel a lot. Other COE parks and state parks in other states are much nicer. We are from Texas and hold pride in our state. Texas you can do better than this!!!

Clean facility with wooded surroundings and short walk down to the lake. Great place to just do 'nothing' and relax. plan Will definitely be back to spend more time here.

Front gate not staffed anymore, and worked by volunteers when someone is there. Very little sign of patrols like they used to do, has definitely gone down hill.

Sites are spread out with lots of room between. Bathrooms/showers were clean and stocked with toilet paper. Fantastic playground with baby swings and stuff for bigger kids too.
