What Guests Are Saying
Hanks Creek campground is well-kept and offers a peaceful atmosphere, with clean sites and decent facilities, making it a great spot for relaxation and outdoor activities. Many campers enjoyed the beautiful views of the lake and appreciated the friendly park hosts. However, some areas are in need of maintenance and updates, particularly the boat ramps and restroom facilities, which have been affected by recent flooding and storms.

We enjoyed our visit. The campground was quiet with mostly adults. Our site had beautiful trees and great access to launch the kayak.
The showers & restrooms were clean, but they do not supply soap in the restroom. For the reservation price, there should be soap to wash hands. It was inconvenient to remember to bring ours each time.
Several sites were closed due to recent flooding.

We visit Hanks Creek often. This trip we arrived and got unhooked and set up to discover there was no electricity at our site. When I opened the box the inside panel fell out on the ground. I went to the host to report the issue. The host said that site had just been worked on and they thought it was ready. The host moved us to another site and later we met other campers that had booked on the same loop and they had to move also due to the sites not having electricity either. Hanks Creek was severely damaged due to flooding but the COE should have done a better job of making sure the sites that were open had been completely repaired. Very inconvenient to get all set up to find out the site is dead!

Great park, we stayed over Christmas and New Year’s. The fishing was great, caught bass from the bank everyday. Great water views. Mostly quiet except for a bit of gunfire in the area in the evenings. Flys were a problem but tolerable. A lot of the park was shut down due to hurricane damage. We would give it another stay.
