What Guests Are Saying
Hanks Creek campground is well-kept and offers a peaceful atmosphere, with clean sites and decent facilities, making it a great spot for relaxation and outdoor activities. Many campers enjoyed the beautiful views of the lake and appreciated the friendly park hosts. However, some areas are in need of maintenance and updates, particularly the boat ramps and restroom facilities, which have been affected by recent flooding and storms.

Had a great time. Everything was super clean. Plenty of room at all the campsite. Stayed at site 37. Had water access and we managed to catch a few fish. While there we reserved site 35 for the next month. Gonna be returning many times

Must make reservations online, the gate was unattended. There is a landline at gate to make reservation by phone. Gate code comes in email for entry, so if you don't have a reservation, you can't drive around and look. The exit gate has tire spikes - don't back up! All sites had lots of trees and shade. 1 bar AT&T LTE signal. Campground is at the end of a road, so it's quiet.

The grounds and park were excellent. We had wonderful weather. The bathrooms were good, the showers only had one with hot water and I would recommend wearing flip flops while showering. We were able to have a fire in the fire pit, no burn ban. The grill grate is above the fire pit for cooking. Our site didn't have a covered picnic area, but the trees provided enough shade. We brought our kayaks and we fished/kayaked in the cove. And yes, the raccoons are brave. They did not care we were trying to shoo them away!
What I didn't like was how people don't know camping etiquette. Our neighbors across from us let their kids run wild and they always cut across our site to get to the lake water. We had kids, too, but that doesn't make it right. So please teach your kids camping etiquette! And if you know they would want to play on or near the lake, then book a site with water!

Park is always clean and every experience I have there normally gets 5 stars. This one gets 4 only because a park attendant work me up claiming I was in the wrong site. He only thought this because whoever wrote the site number on my car tag had terrible hand writing. That will not deter me from staying here in the future. I really do love this park.

Great place to get away from the noise of a big city. Unlike the south end of rayburn, you aren’t waking up to the sound of 2 stroke outboards on the lake(I like this sound myself). It was nice and peaceful. Plenty of wooded area around for campfire wood. Service was minimal with ATT, none with Verizon.
