What Guests Are Saying
Hanks Creek campground is well-kept and offers a peaceful atmosphere, with clean sites and decent facilities, making it a great spot for relaxation and outdoor activities. Many campers enjoyed the beautiful views of the lake and appreciated the friendly park hosts. However, some areas are in need of maintenance and updates, particularly the boat ramps and restroom facilities, which have been affected by recent flooding and storms.

Great place to get away from the noise of a big city. Unlike the south end of rayburn, you aren’t waking up to the sound of 2 stroke outboards on the lake(I like this sound myself). It was nice and peaceful. Plenty of wooded area around for campfire wood. Service was minimal with ATT, none with Verizon.

Very nice camp ground. Our spot was in good shape. Racoons are a problem so need to keep things tightened down. Bathroom and showers are good, but showers need to be cleaned a little more frequently. We stayed 4 days and shower stall got progressively worse. I had to clean the floor myself of all the dirt and mud. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this campground. A little more cozy than Rayburn Park. Rayburn park was providing firewood whereas at not the case at Hanks but you can bring your own.

Camp site 33 was great as we brought our pups with us and they was able to hangout around camp without bothering any neighbors as the only camp site that is close to us is directly in front of us and no other camp sites on the right or left side on 33. The kids also were able to ride the bikes in front of camp site without worrying about anyone driving to fast through that area as it was off the main road inside the park.

We stayed in screened shelter S4. The shelter was great, but there was substantial noise overnight. I think it was fishermen with a boat motor. Other than that, was a great stay.
It is disappointing that park goers have become so callous and selfish as they have. We observed online that all 8 screened shelters were booked and all marked as reserved at the park, but when it came to overnight usage, my wife and I were the only people there using a shelter. The other seven remained empty yet unavailable to persons that might actually like to camp. Ours was the only one available online, when we rented.
