What Guests Are Saying
Rayburn Park is highly praised for its beautiful waterfront views, well-maintained facilities, and spacious concrete RV pads with covered picnic areas. Campers appreciate the cleanliness of the park, including restrooms, and commend the friendly and helpful staff. While some noted minor issues like biting flies and occasional power outages, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

1st night kids woke up with smarms of fire ants in the tent all over them and us. 1 year old could not walk anywhere in site without getting bites all over him. They were literally everywhere!! Moved sites and still could not avoid them, climbing up poles to garbage bags, nests everywhere. Would honestly like a refund for sure!! If your paying for camp grounds they should be maintained, I understand 1 or 2 nests here or there but not all over! Ranger said good luck on refund. This is outdoors there is going to be ants. Yes if I'm free camping in woods for sure, that is why we paid for a nice campground. We up and left 1st day and did not stay the 3 nights! Was not even there 24 hr

They eliminated the pull thru spots, making the spots smaller and more difficult to park bigger rigs. The park ranger was not very friendly, complaining to everyone that had a tire on the grass. some of the spots are not even big enough for your rig and 2 vehicles. I do like that they now have more 50 amp spots.

Be careful in the showers. Floors are extremely slippery.

Beautiful site, level and very quiet. You don't feel like your camping right next to each other.

The renovations are nice but there are fewer sites. The park has been condensed with not enough space for a second vehicle or boat. The pull throughs have been eliminated causing a lot of congestion on the one way loop. Campers are having to park their boat and second vehicle in the boat ramp lot.

We love Rayburn park. Have been going there for years. This park is a good distance from us but because of its location on the lake it was worth our drive. We were so excited that all the sites are now 50 amp. And the concrete slabs and picnic table area are very nice. HOWEVER, most of the sites are now almost short for the long trailers (over 35 ft) and a vehicle. Also, there is no parking close to individual campsites for your extra vehicle and boats . Many of us do not like parking our expensive boats in boat ramp parking overnight. And most times we need to charge our boat batteries and there is no room now close to our campsite. As pretty as the park is , these inconveniences will probably cause us not to choose this park as often as we have in the past.
We would certainly like to hear that the parking issue is resolved soon. Like I said this was our favorite park on Sam Rayburn !!!

We have stayed at this park before and love the quiet, and the setting. Unfortunately this time our experience was not great. Our trip was cut short after we, and everyone else in the park, was sent an email that we had to leave. Not even the courtesy of an explanation or an in person encounter. There was no camp host, and no gate attendant. Our children were very disappointed that we did not get to enjoy the rest of our camping trip. It was a long drive and lots of gas for one night.

Very nice, small remote COE campground. Sites were nicely spaced out. Most sites looked level; our site (36) needed some work. There were places where the asphalt had buckled and it was nearly like driving over curbs, really had to watch to avoid damaging the jacks. It's quite a drive for groceries, but its very peaceful and we'd certainly go back again.
