About Rayburn

Rayburn Park lies on the north shore of Sam Rayburn Reservoir, a popular family destination with boating and fishing and access to hunting less than a mile away. Sam Rayburn Reservoir and the surrounding Angelina National Forest provide a wintering habitat for the bald eagle. During the winter months, forest visitors may see the bald eagle soaring over the lake, perched on a flooded snag or in a tall pine along the shoreline.

What Guests Are Saying

Rayburn Park is highly praised for its beautiful waterfront views, well-maintained facilities, and spacious concrete RV pads with covered picnic areas. Campers appreciate the cleanliness of the park, including restrooms, and commend the friendly and helpful staff. While some noted minor issues like biting flies and occasional power outages, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

We had an excellent time there, we go camping every year in October. This is definitely a great place to go to for camping. We are planning on coming back next year.

We love the park. Robert caught a bass and the other campers caught several large catfish. The weather was perfect except rain one day but that was ok. We scheduled another week in November.

Full-hookup sites were very nice. They were level and well kept up. The view was very nice, especially for sunrises and sunsets. The area was fairly dark, so we were able to do some stargazing away from the RV's.

The weekend female park ranger was rude to guests that came by. They parked at the site next door as no one was there and would have happily moved, but she was so rude, he didn’t even stay.
The park was clean and overall a nice place!

The biting flies need to be addressed, they were horrible !!! The grass needed mowed , the bath and showers need cleaned and sprayed for ants and spiders.

We had to leave early because of the biting flies. We couldn’t even go out of our campers until dark. Seems like there should be something done during the time their there.I’m sure they probably only come out certain times of the year we’ve never seen them so bad before. Other than that Rayburn Park is my favorite place to go camping the park is just beautiful and clean. The sunrises and sunsets are amazing.
