What Guests Are Saying
Sandy Creek Park is praised for its peaceful atmosphere, cleanliness, and well-maintained grounds, making it a favorite among campers. Guests appreciate the spacious, level sites, helpful staff, and beautiful views of the lake. However, there are concerns about the outdated restrooms and difficulties with the dump station, which could use some improvement.

Dump station out of operation which made it very inconvenient. Should have been notified of this before driving 5 hour to camp here. I would have selected a different location

Spent about three days packing and getting things ready to go. Showed up at the park and drove by the dump station to see that it was taped off and closed. There were no other parks with availability to switch to last minute on Thanksgiving weekend. No host ever came by and told us about the issue or apologized for the inconvenience. We brought groceries to make our Thanksgiving lunch so we stayed 1 night, ate lunch, then packed up and left. In the rain. A ton of work for a one night stay. We even left work early to get up there before dark. I feel the issue should have been posted to the website or we should have received a text or email. A little communication goes a long way. Camping on Thanksgiving has become a tradition for us. I guess we’ll have to change to places that have full hookups.

Site 10 would be best used as a double site, along with Site 9, since the two campsites are so closely positioned that there is no privacy for either site. Site 9 actually extends behind Site 10 in such a manner that the fire pit for Site 9 was directly behind our RV in Site 10. Thank goodness for the "Burn Ban" that was in place, thus preventing any campfire smoke from engulfing or RV. The restrooms were clean but the metal toilets were rusted and unsightly. There are no trails in the campground so we just walked the paved roads. If we were to return to this campground, we would definitely book a site further in the park where the sites are more separated.

It’s a wonderful park well Maintained. Open but still trees. Good open areas for fishing everywhere in the park. Great play ground

Good facilities, short visit but park seemed to be well maintained. Couple of road miles off the main highway kinda rough but I doubt the park can do much about that. BUT, no (visible to me) signage on the highway !? Nor at an intersection en route.
