What Guests Are Saying
Twin Dikes campground is generally well-maintained, clean, and offers a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful lake views and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the helpful camp hosts and the serene environment, which is great for birdwatching and family relaxation. Some concerns include the need for maintenance on older sites and occasional issues with neighboring campers, but overall, guests enjoy their experiences and plan to return.

Another great camping/fishing trip! Been camping at Twin Dikes since the '70's. Good and friendly campground hosts.

The camp site was good but no water since water pipes froze. The restrooms were very clean but no water since pipes froze. We had to leave a day early because of the wind but that is not the fault of the campgrounds. I would definitely stay again at same site (#17) just not during an artic freeze.

This is a beautiful location on Sam Rayburn reservoir. There are three loops here. Loops A & B were open. The other loop was closed. Loop A is full of hookups and Loop B is water and electric only, but there is a dump station upon exiting the park. The park itself is clean and quiet. Upon arrival, there is no one manning the booth and signs tell you to drive directly to the site. I'm not sure what the camp hosts do here other than putting out reservation signs on the sites. When we asked about how we contact them for an issue, they told us to knock on their trailer. There's no phone number to call for questions or issues. When we had severe weather, I walked to their site to get info on where to shelter and they didn't answer, so it was somewhat disconcerting to feel as if there was no one manning the campground.
We stayed in Site 7 on Loop A and it was a beautiful site overlooking the lake. However, the pad is asphalt and is crumbling away. There is one significant area on the right side of the pad where the asphalt is crumbling away and deep potholes on the left side, so navigating into the site was tricky avoiding that. Once set, it was a great week. Nice and quiet.

The campground was very nice, the only problem I had was the wind coming off the lake was horrible. I could not find a way to screen myself from it so had to spend the entire time inside my trailer.
The camp host was very nice, but not much he could do about the wind.

Thanksgiving week 2022. Stayed in sites (LOOB) with water & electricity. Verizon service was excellent.
We were greeted when we got to our site.
Sites are well treed and pretty private on this loop. There is not much for children to do; although we did see a few riding their bikes. It was our idea of a quiet few days. We’ll definitely be back.

The COE Campground is beautiful. However, the written description of site 13 is way off.
1. It is up a very large grade. I am only 26', I was able to level. Longer vehicles, could be difficult.
2. It's on a curve. So, not only do you go up a grade you have a sharp turn half way up.
3. Culverts, good thing this is #3, there are three. Yes folks, one on each side as you enter the site and just for fun, one across the road. We aren't talking small culverts. These could swallow up a small child.
Oh, did I mention trees. Okay, just a couple, watch your slides!
I want to give this campground a 5, but couldn't. Thank you to the gentleman two spots over, who backed in my 5th wheel. He watched me try and came over. Even an expert struggled and had to go forward and backward to not run off the paved asphalt.
Yes, please come here. But, avoid site 13.
