What Guests Are Saying
Twin Dikes campground is generally well-maintained, clean, and offers a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful lake views and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the helpful camp hosts and the serene environment, which is great for birdwatching and family relaxation. Some concerns include the need for maintenance on older sites and occasional issues with neighboring campers, but overall, guests enjoy their experiences and plan to return.

Hicking trail could have been better marked. It is confusing close to the end ( or we thought it may have been the end close to the boat ramp). we had to follow blue ribbons through high grass to get back to the park road. Even with that we had a pleasant walk. But we had a very pleasant stay at the park. It was clean and had been mowed. We will visit the park again soon.

We stay at USACE locations several times a year. This was our first time at Twin Dikes. We loved it the most! It was a perfect spot, with a glorious lake view. The screened in shelter made the grand baby think she had her own play room. The dogs loved the camp spot and we will definitely book again as soon as we can carve out some time!

Everything was great, only one small complaint. The shower needed to have hot water.

Love Twin Dikes been there numerous times. The eagles were really active and the volunteer host were professional.

We really enjoyed our stay in site 17 at Twin Dikes. It is the first Texas COE park we've visited that has a good trail system. Our site was spacious, with plenty of room for my hammock, where I could watch the migrating monarch butterflies and the bald eagles, which flew over our campsite several times. The camp host site is directly across the road, and the neighboring site does not appear to be in use, so there is plenty of privacy. There is a shelter over the picnic table, a fire ring, and a small, bar-height table to set your grill (or clean fish or something--we weren't sure). We really enjoyed walking the trails and along the lake. Thank goodness for GPS as almost got lost on the trails! It was quite exciting. The shoreline is very sandy and eroding, which is why many of the lakeside sites are closed.
Jasper isn't far away if you need Harbor Freight or Tractor Supply, etc. There is a big dollar store about a mile from the park that is more like a mid-size Wal-Mart. You can buy firewood there or at the gas station nearby. They do not sell it at the park. We were only there for a long weekend, but it looked like a fun area, and we'll probably be back!

Sites around lake TOO CLOSE together...very little privacy. Lights from neighbors' and bath house too bright at night. No cell service or wifi.

Great views. Very friendly staff. Sites well maintained but with some leveling issues. Quiet in November.

Nice park. We were happy to have sewer hookup. Wish all COE parks had this amenity.
