Great place to camp, fish, or just relax. Camp sites are phenomenal. Very quiet. The showers are wonderful. Very very clean. Hot and cold water. The staff were all very friendly and eager to assist in any way possible. The boat launch is easy peasy. We stayed several nights and will definitely go back. The fishing was good. Caught and released several bass fish. Caught and cooked some decent sized catfish. I highly recommend this camp site.

We have stayed here many times and love the park. Everything was fine except that previous campers had left cigarette butts, zip ties, water balloon pieces as well as other trash all over the site. It was very disappointing.

Have loved Lake O the Pines all my life. Buckhorn is our favorite campground on the lake. Maintenance especially mowing and access to the water is not what it used to be and needs improved.

From Jefferson, TX, travel 3.8 miles northwest on Highway 49. Turn left onto FM 729 and continue for 3.5 miles, then turn left again onto FM 726. Travel 2.5 miles. The park entrance is on the right.
Buckhorn Creek is accessible via Highway 49, which is approximately 3.8 miles from Jefferson, TX. Additionally, FM 726 connects to the local roads leading to the campground.
