while we love Buckhorn Creek campsite and the quiet and beautiful surroundings, there is only one bath house/ restroom available for the entire campground because the second outhouse has been out of service since last year and I was told will have to be demolished and rebuilt. this is a huge inconvenience for over half the site that is further away and makes it twice as busy for those close to the one that is open. Big downside to this site but everything else is nice.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, to the point that my brother-in-law said, I want to stay another night. I booked another night. The next evening he decided the same thing, even though he was going to have to move his camper to another site. He was able to move to the site next to mine, so it worked out great. I booked another night. I told him, you know we don’t have to book one day at a time. It was a great time, with good food and family fellowship.
The only negative, is that they don’t have sewer hook-ups and their dump station will only accommodate one camper at a time. This makes it very taxing on me, because my camper has two black water tanks and two gray water tanks, and it takes a long time to get clean-out. I still camp here once or twice a year and would recommend it as a great campground. There are two “great” restaurants (5D Cattle Company steakhouse and Corbett’s Catfish and More) nearby, in Avinger, TX, Enoch Stomp winery is just down the road, with Bearcreek Smokehouse just a little farther down the road from Enoch Stomp. Jefferson is loaded with antique stores and restaurants as well. Plenty to do and see.

We enjoyed our 3-day stay at this park, site 113. This site is level, clean, and a nice view of the lake. Most of the RV sites would not have any issues accommodating larger rigs. Cell coverage and OTA tv were very good. The town of Jefferson is nearby and had everything we needed. We have added this park to our list to stay at again.
