The park is a good ways off of the interstate, north of Jefferson. There is no signage until you get to the park. Check in was very easy as we had prepaid. We had one of the two sites with a deck. We were right on the lake with a nice view. The sites were close with no visual separation. The angle between the pad and the road made it very easy to back in. The site was concrete and level. The utilities were mid-way on the site making it easy to get to. There are no stores close to the park. There are several gas stations at the corner of 49 and the first left FM 729, but I would not try to pull in with my rig as the pumps were close together. There is a nice Brookshire in Jefferson. This is a great place for fishing, but not much else to do.

Site E138 has a large tree that obstructs ingress & egress. A very large hole along the site entrance is enough to swallow a semi-truck. Well it’s an exaggeration but a very large hole to sink a R12 dual tire in to the axel. Beautiful site and loved it.

We arrived to have someone else in our spot! It was an hour before check in tome at 2! I called
The office then sent the volunteer down and he told us we had to call and see if someone was in our spot before coming’. We have camped
many times at this lake and never had an issue! We were made to feel as if this was our fault for showing up early! There was no one at the camp packing up to move. The volunteers at
the gate called
The number on the reservation and the mother of the occupant showed up and was upset because we wanted them to move. They finally moved to a different spot about 4;30 which was two and a half hours on our dollar! I have never been treated this way by a Corp of
Engineer park ever!
