We had our grandkids for a few days and we went camping at Johnson's Creek at the Lake of the Pines. We did not expect to find such a nice playground facility for the grandkids. It was too early in the year for swimming, but the swimming area is near and very nice. We were at camp space E108. They have sewer hook up at this location, however it is not on the same level as the space. It is about 15 to 18 inches is higher. This caused my sewer line to run uphill and kept the sewer line full. It worked, but if you have any problem such as a leak or the coupling to come loose, it would be a disaster and you have to carefully lift the line high enough for it to drain before you unhook or you will have a mess. My suggestion is to choose any space but E108 in this area. The others appear to be installed correctly or if you have a taller RV or can drive upon some tire lifts you would be ok.

Great campsite with everything you need nearby, water & restrooms. If you’re lucky you can see deer in the early morning.

The campground itself was well-maintained. Some restroom facilities were not working and obviously in need of repairs. Enjoyed the wildlife at this park. FYI, camping loops and campground roads are hilly. We were there five nights and had a loss in water pressure for part of one day, but it was quickly resolved. All hosts were friendly and helpful. Historic Jefferson is only twenty minutes away.

Campsite was great except for the brown water. We flushed it trying to get it to clear to no avail. Plugged up two water filters. Also, the pressure was so low we had to run our pump the whole time. Other than the water issue, park was great. Beautiful lake. Deer and coons came up every evening. Surprised to see seagulls and pelicans on the lake. Spot was level and the roads were good.
