Ratcliff Lake Recreation Area is praised for its beautiful scenery, spacious and quiet campgrounds, and well-maintained facilities, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and outdoor activities. Many visitors enjoyed the hiking trails, clean restrooms, and peaceful atmosphere, with some returning frequently. This is our favorite place to camp in east Texas. Beautiful lake and campsites and spread out.

We had an excellent visit! The only problem was we didn't stay long enough. This is a place you can truly relax among the trees, enjoy the wildlife, and ignore the outside world.

This is a quiet, well-maintained recreation area. We like to tent camp, cook over an open fire, and catch up on our reading. The camp hosts are always friendly. The maintenance crew keeps the bathrooms really clean. There are no motors allowed on the lake, but there is swimming, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. There are also trails for hiking. The camp sites are well kept. It is a great place to disconnect, but if you need to be connected, there is good reception with Verizon.

My family and I camped out at Ratcliff Lake Recreation Area last week. It's very beautiful there. Peaceful and quiet. Okay, we did hear traffic from Hwy 7in the mornings. But it is a beautiful park and well maintained. The staff was kind and courteous. They came every morning to clean the bathroom & pick up the trash. The weather cooperated most of the time. One night there was a very strong thunderstorm. Lots of thunder and lightning - pretty scary. That just added to the adventure. This is a good place for families - whether you use tents or RVs.
