What Guests Are Saying
Ratcliff Lake Recreation Area is praised for its beautiful scenery, spacious and quiet campgrounds, and well-maintained facilities, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and outdoor activities. Many visitors enjoyed the hiking trails, clean restrooms, and peaceful atmosphere, with some returning frequently. However, there were a few concerns regarding noise from neighbors, occasional maintenance issues, and a lack of sewer hookups, but overall, guests had a positive experience and expressed a desire to return.

Great park. Nice hiking trails. Beautiful campsites that have ample space between other campers. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained.

The park is clean. We have been many times for day use which is why we decided to come back for camping. We really didn't have much fun this trip but not the fault of the campground. I don't know if we will camp here again - but will come back for day use.

The inconvenience was that there is no water hook up next to each site , you have to have a longest hose ever to be able to reach the water hookup , which is also you share with another site .
And there is no cell service at all.( maybe it’s a good thing )

Great hiking area. Wish the sites had better surfaces for the RVs.

Beautiful setting. We stayed at #30. The camp host were very nice and the grounds spotless. Some sites provide water and electricity, and some not. It would be helpful to know which is which in advance. #30 is electric only.

Very nice escape from the city (Houston). Multiple hiking trails nearby with two located on the campgrounds. Very pleased with campsite space between neighbors on Dogwood Loop. Very quiet campground and lots of trees making each campsite shaded very well. This campground is making it on our campsite return list. Also, noticed cleaning crews cleaning restroom/shower facilities multiple times a day and they had log sheets. Gives peace of mind for those concerned about COVID or overall cleanliness of their public restroom/shower facilities. They're older facilities but clean. Hot water wasn't very hot when my son took a shower around 6pm, but it could be because it ran out of hot water.
Cannot speak for tent sites.

We really enjoyed our time at this park. It had great pads to park on and we’ll maintained roads. We will definitely be back again when in the area.
