What Guests Are Saying

Son's River Ranch offers a family-friendly environment with enjoyable activities like tubing in the clear San Marcos River, and many guests appreciate the comfortable glamping accommodations. The staff is noted for their quick responsiveness to issues, such as tent changes. However, there are concerns regarding poor communication, especially related to lost items and accommodating customer requests during inclement weather, as well as cleanliness in the bathrooms given the high volume of visitors.

Extremely disappointed. My son lost his phone, and after being led to believe it had been found, I drove over an hour to Son’s Blue River Camp to pick it up. Once I arrived, I was told the phone wasn’t there. The communication between the camp and the other camps/businesses they work with appears to be nonexistent. Nobody seemed to know where the phone was or who was responsible for lost and found items.

I wasted hours of my day and a long drive because of poor communication and lack of organization. If you’re going to tell a customer an item has been located, make sure the information is accurate before sending them on a trip. Very frustrating experience.

Our family of 5 stayed here for 3 days. We had an issue with the first tent and they QUICKLY moved us to a new tent and were very helpful. The float was perfect for a family with young kids (relaxing & no tube-flipping rapids). The shuttle was right on time after the float. The bathrooms would be my only complaint - they struggle to keep them clean and in working condition. BUT THERE WERE SO MANY PEOPLE THERE that they would need to hire full time bathroom attendants to keep up with the demand! We would absolutely stay again.

Probably will not be using Son’s River Ranch anymore due to them not wanting to accommodate their customers. Stormy weekend with possible flash floods (not considering what happened last July 4 in kerrville). All we wanted was for them to tell us which other days or weekends were available and they didn’t want to change our dates. We have the cabana as well as a Safari tent, 2 things that we purchased months ago paying good money and they don’t want to accommodate their guests. Very sad and my family and I decided we’re not gonna use them or their sister locations anymore. Very sad as we have always had a good time with them in the past and we’re loyal customers. I do not recommend booking with them due to their lack of accommodation and cancellation policy.

The San Marcos River hits different at Son’s River Ranch. My family and I did the tubing and I lost count of how many times we went down. The water is so clear and cold it honestly feels unreal in this Texan heat. LOVED the glamping cabin and just grilling out and hanging in the hammock while listening to the river. I’ve been to Son’s Guadalupe and Son’s Island before and I always say Son’s just knows how to do it right no matter which location. This one specifically though might be my new favorite just because of how good that river is. Definitely coming back before the summer is over!

This place is pretty cool. Our reservation was for a canvas tent, but as that sounds it was pretty much a small hotel room for 4 on the inside, with a TV, mini fridge, wifi and basic cooking equipment. There was a grill and big fire pit out side. With plenty of provided seating.
They also have cabanas closer to the water for all day fun, for a small extra fee.

Definitely a fun "camping" experience for my kids...
