What Guests Are Saying

Lavonia is praised for its beautiful lake views and peaceful atmosphere, making it a great spot for campers. Many reviews highlight the friendly park hosts and the spaciousness of the sites, which provide a sense of privacy. However, maintenance issues such as overgrown grass, pothole-ridden roads, and inadequate restroom facilities detract from the overall experience, indicating a need for better management and upkeep.

Adult birthday party with loud music and karaoke all night long. Had to call police twice. This is the second time it’s happened. Had to move campsites and call police in order to get any sleep.

Not mowed or maintained. We would stay somewhere else if we come back to this area.

This park is a diamond in the rough, it needs some love, more mowing, the electricity pulses, the bathhouses need a spray down, but the lake views are amazing. The park has so much potential! I saw a bald eagle. There are plenty of places to swim, we went labor day weekend and it was PACKED. I am not sure people pay the fees because nobody is at the front gate, ever. I would definitely visit again.

Love the campground and the lake. I just wish they had 50 amps as well. Maybe in the future? 😁

Front gate office is closed for repairs, open gate during daylight hours with no one monitoring traffic in and out of the park. No phone numbers listed to call for assistance. Very little communication between park host's (if you can find one) so resolving issues may take days or not resolved at all. Many sites with electrical or water not working so those sites remain closed. Grounds not being kept, grass hasn't been mowed for weeks. I've been camping here for the past 10 years. This is the worst I've experienced. I hope management of the park gets better.
