What Guests Are Saying
Lavonia is praised for its beautiful lake views and peaceful atmosphere, making it a great spot for campers. Many reviews highlight the friendly park hosts and the spaciousness of the sites, which provide a sense of privacy. However, maintenance issues such as overgrown grass, pothole-ridden roads, and inadequate restroom facilities detract from the overall experience, indicating a need for better management and upkeep.

We love going to Lavonia and getting away! The park is safe, dog and family friendly and the people that work at the booth are always friendly and helpful! We have been going there for 5 years now and it’s the perfect get away!

The park is nice but the facilities, roads and especially restrooms need maintenance

The facilities were run down. Road to our campsite had 3 different ruts/pot hole which ran the width of the road. Reserved a site across from what I thought was a bathhouse. However, its was only a restroom. The mens door was padlocked shut and the women's room was disgusting according to my wife. Site advertises Hot Showers. However there was only 1 actual bath house on the far end of the campground. The bathhouse was equipped with one shower for men and one for women. I would not take a shower in the facility based on the condition and appearance. This location does not merit $30/night and I'm greatly disappointed considering it is a Corp property.

Lots of open space. Which is very nice. Some of the sites were unusable due to flooding. The boat ramp was open but there are no other activates. The public bathrooms were very old. However it was easy to get a site and a nice place just to get away. Bait and a couple of restaurants are not very far way.

The hosts were very helpful, and overall the facilities of good. It was mentioned to us Lavonia would be undergoing a modernization, which the campground does need with regards to utilities etc. This is needed soon as we have been told of several sites with problems with water and electric from past floods, use, etc. Overall we do like staying here.

This park we will not return to. Have stayed on several occasions because is close to family, but after our last visit we will find another even if we have to travel farther. The park is poorly maintained, grass not mowed, tree branches on the sites. Seems to have units (not park workers) that stay on a full time basis, we have been in the park in the spring and fall and see the same units on the same sites with obvious lack of movement. Sites are used for multi-car(parking on the road) parties and may have 4 or 5 tents on the same site. The roads are very bad, broken with chuck holes or just lack of road broken and gone across entire road. Sites are very unlevel, and Restrooms are in bad need of repair. Too bad the Fort Worth District pays so little attention to this park, could be a gem, right on the lake, with a beautiful view.

Staff is very friendly. This park is in a state of disrepair, it needs a lot of TLC. Has potential to be a great place to visit if the Core of Engineers would take care of this facility instead of neglecting it. You can tell Eastfork and Lavonia parks are not a priority for the current lake manager.
