i'm sure at some point this park was amazing to stay at. my site was beautiful and not crowded with the nearest camper over 100 ft away. the sunsets we saw were the best on our trip. we camped close to the lake and was easy to see. however, for some reason this campground is falling apart! the gate house was closed with tarps on the roof because is leaked. i was told the building was infested with mice. the road leaving the campground had huge holes in it. i have never seen a Corp of engineer park this rundown

Absolutely peaceful location, and friendly campers that respect one another and the beautiful land. We are headed back there soon for a longer stay.

Beautiful locale, but the facilities are in need of repair. Many of the camping sights were out of order due to either electrical or water problems. The camp host was very nice, but couldn't cover all the time. The new entry kiosk accepts log-ins but does not control the access gate the way people used to. As a result the gate stays up for anyone to drive in from sunset until 10 PM. The park doesn't feel quite as safe as it used to be. (This was our 3rd visit.) Still, for a park so close to a major urban area it is still quite safe.

That park is not keep up with, the bathrooms need to be repainted and all graffiti covered up , the office is closed at all times, there is at least 10 people living there at all times not just the grounds people. Overall the park could be nice but the lack of maintenance is horrible. I have been to many parks in Texas and that one hands down is the worst.

Great open areas and a lot of seperation between campers. Had a problem with the 30amp but was fixed right away. The gate is defunct and camp hosts are around but not obvious.

This used to be a wonerful campgroud..not anymore. Did away with gate keepers and gate.
Now anyboby can enter w/o being asked anything. The bath house is not kept cleaned anymore.

It's an inexpensive campground near enough to Dallas. But this park needs some work. There has been a blue tarp on the roof of the checkin building for three years. The pavement all over the park is full of pot holes and damaged areas. The exit lane, with the no-reverse spikes is collapsing so I'm afraid to drive over it.
But mostly, the power hookups were awful. It's a 30 amp hookup, but you can't draw much over 20 amps without the voltage falling under 100v and my power management circuit cutting off power to protect my ac.

Campground was well maintained. Bathroom/Showers were clean. Each campsite is large enough for multiple tents. Reservations were super affordable.
