What Guests Are Saying
Lavonia is praised for its beautiful lake views and peaceful atmosphere, making it a great spot for campers. Many reviews highlight the friendly park hosts and the spaciousness of the sites, which provide a sense of privacy. However, maintenance issues such as overgrown grass, pothole-ridden roads, and inadequate restroom facilities detract from the overall experience, indicating a need for better management and upkeep.

My only issue is the entrance doesnt open till 10am. Our 1st visit left the park at 730am to go get coffee and had to way till 10am before i was able to get back to my site. 2nd visit i should of known but didnt about it left early Sunday morning to go get breakfast tacos and again could not get back in till 10am breakfast was served cold, and this last time forgot all.about the 10am thing left to go get bait and had to park my vechicle at the entrance and be picked up to get back to camp ..... So really a park that offers day use camping and fishing and opens at 10am it just kinda gets in the way. But other than that we enjoy our stay every time

Really rundown. BBQ pits at many sites were between 37-45 degress angles. Not useful. RV parking pads probabably haven't been updated since 1968 when last the BBQ pits were installed.

Gate attendants (The one with the dog )not friendly to us or our guests
We did like the fact that there was sewer.
We had a beautiful view but the hill we had to climb on to get to table and lawn chairs was very hard on us. Seniors have a hard time climbing.
We did use the showers and we must say they were spotless every time and water was hot🥰

We spent a 10 days here between two different campsites. Great location close to Dallas. Staff is friendly and helpful. This is an older park and some campsites are closed for repair. Campsites are spaciously spread apart. Full hookups, 30 Amp service only. Clean bathrooms, Clean bath house. Typical for Corps of Engineers parks, parking is uneven so be prepared to put in some effort to level your RV. Larger RV's (35-40ft) may have difficulty at leveling from front to rear without ramps or building blocks. Worth the effort though if you're able. We will certainly visit here more often.

Very quite not to many people, and that is how I like the campsite.

The campground was so peaceful, which was amazing considering it's close proximity to the city. The check-in staff was lovely and made my stay a joy from the start. Also, the restroom and shower facilities were super clean and very well taken care of.

Clean park. All 30 amps no 50 amps. They have sewer which is great. The spots are not level so take leveling blocks for your tires.
