The campground and facilities were very nice. Spacious level sites. We were there in November during deer hunting. Our neighbors strung up their dead deer from the lantern post and proceeded to skin and process the deer. I couldn’t imagine being the next camper at that site with blood and guts! You will also find dead catfish carcasses strung up on trees and skulls nailed to trees. Tiny burrs got on everything especially our dogs.

All camp area personnel were very kind and helpful. Had a wonderful relaxing break from everyday life. Spent our time relaxing with our friends chatting by the fire and sharing some fine camp cooked meal. The rest of our time was spent pole fishing for catfish. Did not get to fish as many days as we would have liked but did manage to catch some really nice catfish. All in all it was a great relaxing vacation that we hated to see come to an end. But we are already playing our next get together for next March. Can’t wait to do it again!

Lovely clean, well spaced campground. Only issue were the ants and some sort of biting bugs, maybe chiggers, but not sure. Will be back

You can’t pay the gate attendant on arrival. You must do it either by phone or online with recreation.gov. It was time consuming. Once I paid by phone the gate attendant was able to issue me an entrance pass. It’s ridiculous, they should at least be able to process a credit card or accept a check as payment at the gate.
