Beautiful site! There is a good 6in drop-off from the site pad to the ground that must be monitored if you are an at-fall risk person or clumsy like me. Otherwise, it was perfect! The park host was superior!

This was our first time to Cagle, and it will now be our “go-to” campground for sure! The camp host was quick to greet us and let us know they are there for us if we need anything! We were at site 8, and it was roomy and perfect! We drove around the park to scout out where our next spot would be, and we realized that the entire park is amazing. The sites are spread out nicely, and it’s all tree covered. It’s like a state park - but better because it’s less crowded and quiet! Our site was perfectly level, and we had no problem reaching all the hookups. There isn’t a water view from this loop, but the trees and seclusion were perfect. Loved everything about it!

We were a bit apprehensive about camping here after reading some reviews. But, we were greeted by a friendly host. Our host was not around until we were leaving. He was very engaging and encouraged us to come back. The camping area was very clean. It was really quiet. Everyone was very friendly. We will return.

From Huntsville, Texas, take I-45 to mile marker 103, New Waverly exit, and go to the first stop sign. Do not turn; stay straight on the feeder until you reach the stop sign at FM 1375. Turn right (west) on FM 1375. The Sam Houston District Office is on the right approximately 2.5 miles west of I-45. Cagle Recreation Area is approximately 6 miles west of I-45 and approximately 3 miles west of the District Office on the left hand side of FM 1375.
From Conroe, Texas, take I-45 to mile marker 102, New Waverly exit, and go to the first stop sign. Turn left (west) on FM 1375. The Sam Houston District Office is on the right approximately 2.5 miles west of I-45. Cagle Recreation Area is approximately 6 miles west of I-45 and approximately 3 miles west of the District Office on the left hand side of FM 1375.
Cagle Recreation Area is accessible via I-45, with the New Waverly exit providing access to FM 1375, which leads directly to the campground approximately 6 miles west of the interstate.
