What Guests Are Saying
Sanders Cove is a beautiful and clean campground with spacious sites, lovely views, and friendly hosts, making it a favorite for many campers. While the campground offers a peaceful atmosphere and good amenities, some facilities, particularly the bathrooms and showers, require significant updates and maintenance. The roads leading to the park are in poor condition, but the overall experience is enjoyable, with plenty of outdoor activities available nearby.

A beautiful place to stay, especially if you like biking/hiking. They have several miles of DORBA trails that are well marked and fun. When we stayed in Oct 2023, just camping loop B was open and it was completely booked so it got a little crowded. I wish the other loops had been open and/or the sites were more spread out. The bathrooms were always clean and well stocked. Overall a very nice place to camp, just unfortunate timing for us.

Cleaning crew was on winter schedule. No TP in the restrooms. This resulted in a camper using paper towels and deficating on the floor, creating an awful mess and stink. Complaints did not help. Recommend telling people to bring their own TP just in case.
Other than that, the campground was great.

Once I cleaned up from the previous birthday party it was a bit better. Having the water running the whole time was interesting as I reported the issue and it was still just running when I left.

Bring fans if you camp in the summer in a 50 amp camper.

This was our first visit. We followed Google Maps and found our site without any problems. The check-in attendants were nice. We were informed that there was a burn ban. This was pretty upsetting to find out during check-in because we did not propane setup for cooking. The burnban was not posted anywhere on the website during reservation, no advanced warning at all. With that being said we had to travel to Paris, TX to buy a propane setup so we could eat over our long weekend there. The campsites were not well maintained. The grass was tall and the site was covered in trash. This site sits beside the boot ramp which was always busy. There is no adequate parking for the trucks and trailers which made parking near our site difficult. The swim area (had to leave the campsite and drive around the cove) was nice and decently clean. While we were at our campsite or at the swimming area people were using charcoal grills to cook. The park ranger drove up numerous times and never said anything. Overall it was a descent trip but I wish the "rules" applied to everyone and we could have saved $100 by not buying a propane cooking setup. But Hey, rules are rules. If we stay here agin we will stay in a more secluded spot and come prepared to clean our area before we setup camp. Oh, and bring the propane cooking setup for backup just incase.
