What Guests Are Saying
Sanders Cove is a beautiful and quiet campground with large, clean campsites and friendly staff, making it a great choice for relaxation and family gatherings. Many visitors appreciated the scenic views, well-marked trails, and the overall cleanliness of the park. However, the facilities, particularly the restrooms and showers, require significant maintenance and updates to enhance the camping experience.

We were at Sanders during the off-season (late December). We found the roads to have areas of disrepair - broken asphalt, deep ruts along the outsides of the lanes. The only shower/flush toilet facility is near the front gate and is in need of repair and upgrade. The Men's side shower area was 3 stalls with a shared bench and changing area. While all three shower doors had 2 hooks, two of those doors had broken off hooks that had not been replaced rendering them useless. No place to set soap/shampoo. Lights were on a timer and didn't function during the day instead, relying on skylights for lighting. The same could be said of the Women's side of the facility with the addition of a slow drains that cause water to back up on the shower area floor.

This is a very nice park. It appears that most (if not all) of the pads are level and wider than the state parks norm. The area is open and you can see your neighbor but far enough apart where they shouldn't bother you. We did notice a general lack of trash cans in the park but that could be due to the time we are camping (early December).
Water pressure was good and pleasant tasting. The lack of signs made it a little more difficult to locate our site but once around we found it with no difficulty. Overall we had a very nice, quiet stay and will be back.

Camping here in the off season, there were only three other campers in the campground. It was very quite. The campground was clean and well kept. The only oddity was the water hydrant was on the opposite side of the site pad from the electric pedicle. My 50' water hose made it a non-issue. We would camp here again.

the spot we picked had a great view of the lake, BUT the fire rings were in bad shape, some of the tables were leaning toward the road. the roads were bubbled up and terrible to drive on. the bathrooms weren't that clean, the tile was broke cracked, the floors were leaning so there was water standing in the corners with no way to get dressed on a dry floor. Sanders Cove used to be a very nice campsite BUT its like they take your money and don't do any repairs on the camp.

This was a beautiful campground right on the lake. With the fall leaves falling sites can be difficult to find. This park was quiet and a great place to stay, would stay here again.

We love the setting at Sanders Cove and booked it specifically to have a pretty tree-covered spot overlooking the lake. The grounds are well maintained and we really enjoy the hiking trails. Unfortunately we were disappointed during this visit as we planned to work during the week of our stay but had zero cell coverage and experienced almost no service using Starlink, which is very reliable almost everywhere. We also did not see anyone from the park during our 8-day stay (not even while checking in at the specified time) and due to the campers next to us had fires during a burn ban and leaving their site a mess with trash. Even though we were there during the off season, we expected to be greeted or visited by the camp host and for them to enforce some campground rules with our neighbors. It may not keep us from coming back but definitely took away from the experience as a whole, and we’ll be sure to remember it’s the place you need to plan to disconnect from all service.
