What Guests Are Saying
Sanders Cove is a beautiful and quiet campground with large, clean campsites and friendly staff, making it a great choice for relaxation and family gatherings. Many visitors appreciated the scenic views, well-marked trails, and the overall cleanliness of the park. However, the facilities, particularly the restrooms and showers, require significant maintenance and updates to enhance the camping experience.

Wish I could say positive things, but like a lot of Army Corp parks this place is poorly managed and not really maintained. Nobody was at the gate house the entire time, and I never saw anyone who appeared to work at the park. Pretty sure there were meth-heads squatting at the park long term because there was no one there to run them off, and it times it felt a bit unsafe. The bathrooms were disgraceful, especially on the C loop, and I have a photo to prove it. Whatever you do, don’t try to launch your boat on the ramp on the C loop. The concrete has collapsed underwater and it has the potential to cause series damage to your trailer. Some guys were unable to pull their boats out of the water and had to drive and reload using the ramp on the A loop. Not sure if all of the problems are due to a lack of funding, or just general incompetence from government workers, but it is really sad and disappointing that these parks are not maintained well at all – Not just Sanders Cove, but most of the Army Corp parks I have visited in north east TX.

When entering the camping area there are two loops. I took the one to the right and got to the exit without finding my spot. I then went back and went to the left at which time I found my spot. It would be very helpful it there was a arrow sign directing you to the spots that on the left and another showing the spots that are on the right loop.

Have camped in Loops A and C; most recently in Loop A, Site A17. All are very nice campgrounds with plenty of shade. Would like to have 50 AMP service.

Our campsite was shady a very nice spot!!!!! All camp hosts were friendly and helpful and kept an eye on everything several times a day!!! We would be very happy to stay here again and we really didn’t want to go home. Everyone we had the privilege to camp by were very friendly!!!!
The one thing I would tell future campers would be to be sure and bring a portable black tank if you plan on staying awhile. We didn’t and thankfully we purchased one at Spencer’s RV. Other than that, which was our fault, we had an amazing time and made some great friends

There is no signage directing you to Sanders Cove off U.S. Highway 271, so make a left off of 27l onto FM 906. There is a grocery store at this corner. The road leading to the camping area is very rough and patched numerous times.
