About Union Grove

Union Grove Park is located on the southwestern shore of Stillhouse Hollow Lake in central Texas. The lake offers a wide variety of recreation opportunities, including water sports, hiking, biking, horseback riding, picnicking, large group pavilions, hunting, fishing and simply enjoying the scenery. This facility has RV and tent camping sites with water and electric hookups available, as well as three screen shelters available for guests without camping equipment. The facility is one of only two reservable campgrounds on the lake. Stillhouse Hollow Lake was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with the construction of Stillhouse Hollow Dam in 1968. The 6,430-acre lake is located 16 miles upstream of the confluence of the Lampasas and Leon Rivers, which flow into the Little River.

Beautiful, clean all the people that worked there are also friendly. There was an issue with some campers snicking in after dark but the Ranger took care of it quickly. Love the park and the people.

This is our absolute favorite place for a weekend getaway. We live very close by, but the ability to come such a short distance and completely escape responsibilities at home is awesome. The lake views are tremendous, and there's always someone we know camping in the park at the same time.

Early March stay: almost full! It was quiet & peaceful! Loved waking up to the lake views! Bathrooms were clean, showers - plenty of hot water. Grounds well maintained!

Other than Other campers parking on grass, washing their vehicles, people not picking up their dog's poop......we had a good time. We're retired and live close to all parks in our area.

Booked this site to attend an event at the Expo which is a couple of exits north on I35. The park is about 7 miles from the highway, a bit curvy but nice road. Access was all unmanned, get the code with your reservation to enter the park. Our site was nice and the our back window was a view of the pretty lake area. The park was full but everything was spaced nicely. Site had water and electric, Dump station was as you exit the campground area. Book your reservation on Recreation.gov which has good pictures of each site. Our only complaint was the site side to side was very unlevel and our automatic level system could not finish to level. It left our back wheels on one side off the ground. We did not have our extra level blocks with us so we worked it best we could for the visit. Just be prepared to be patient on the sites that need a bit of tweaking.

Great spot. Park was half open and other occupants were quite and respectful. Only complaint was proximity to boat ramp as a lot of people just drive in and park then walk they try campgrounds looking at the lake.

Camped for a week in site 4. Enjoyed the beautiful lake view with ducks every day. Bathrooms/shower house was close by and was very clean. No spiders, cobwebs, bugs or filth. Did not do any outdoor activities due to cold weather. There was a boat ramp close by that was being used by some serious fisher people every day. Was able to cook on the bbq pit outside. The middle of the grate was missing-either broken or burned away with use but we made it work. We will definitely re-visit this campground.
