What Guests Are Saying
Rocky Creek Park at Lake Somerville is a well-maintained campground featuring beautiful lake views from every site, spacious areas for camping, and a peaceful environment perfect for relaxation. The staff is friendly and the facilities, including the RV dump station, are well-kept, making it a great destination for nature lovers. While some visitors noted issues with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the presence of sticker burrs, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Such a lovely park and the sites are nice and wide so neighbors are not piled on top of one another which is so nice. You actually feel like you are camping! Each site has a bbq pit, fire ring, and most all of them have a small gazebo type of shaded structure with a picnic table. The hiking trail for us is the main attraction and we go on it every morning that we are there without fail. Lots of wildlife like deer, rabbits, armadillo's and once we saw a whole bunch of little piglets and that was refreshing until the giant mama sow showed up! Yikes we never knew that wild pigs got that huge! The water is thoroughly refreshing feeling after a nice long day of adventure. It is a very busy park in the summer months so prepare for that but everyone minds their own business and it is very laid back. The shower/bath houses are always in pretty good condition save for the bugs that get in there a lot. Nothing like having a wasp buzzing around you while you are shampooing your hair. haha. But that can't be helped. This summer there were an abundance of annoying flies and gnats and a BUNCH of daddy long leg spiders so be prepared for that. The park maintenance takes really good care of the grounds and is always mowing and weedeating a section during almost all our visits. It is just a wonderful place to go to relax and so is it's sister site down the road called Yequa Creek. Both COE parks are fabulous we think and we can't wait to go back when it's not 100 degrees and blasting hot! Thank goodness that place called Wild Bill's sells ice right outside of the park because ice melts so fast during the summer in Texas and it's nice to have drinks chilled to be able to stay hydrated. Can't say enough great things about this oasis in the wild!

Was approached about speeding on 3 separate occasions despite only driving the speed limit. If it is desired for drivers to go slower, the speed limit signs should be changed to reflect this desire.

Very nice campground with nice showers. Plenty of lake access and nice size sites. There are some nice geocaches close by and driving over to Independence, TX is worth the drive for historical tour.

Such a great quiet park! If you like the relaxed and quiet atmosphere this is it! Being able to pull the boat up close to the campsite is awesome and the friendly staff is also a plus.
