Good sites, many with clear view of lake.
Utility’s were strong, 3 bar Verizon signal.
Overall campground needs some TLC. Deferred maintenance is taking its toll.
Enforcement of 3PM arrival time has created ripple effect of people booking sites an extra day and then not showing until early the following day.

The only negative is the hours for arrival!! You want to enjoy all day at the lake but they don’t let you in until 2pm almost all day lost !!

Nice park. Bathroom lights were sometimes off at night. Friends were made to wait 30 minutes to check in. Yes, they were early but had driven a long way, and their site was empty. Makes no sense. Otherwise, nice trip! We are longtime loyal campers at Yegua.

Our neighborhood group of about 20 takes a yearly 4-day camping trip to Lake Sommerville. This was our first year to stay at Yegua. Park was quiet, clean & well-kept. Park staff was friendly & helpful & made regular rounds through park, as did park ranger. Sites were shady &well-maintained, clean bbq pit, picnic table, easily visible parking area for camper. Nice sand "beach". We enjoyed watching the large number of deer wandering through/around campsites. Even though I am not in charge of our campout, I feel fairly confident we'll be back, next year!
