About Cedar Ridge (TX)

Cedar Ridge Park campground is located on the Northern side of Belton Lake. This year-round campground accommodates both tents and RVs and has several sites with screened shelters for those who do not have camping equipment. This family friendly park provides many amenities, including water-bourne restrooms with sinks, flush toilets, and showers, group picnic areas, and a concession marina within the park offers fuel and basic convenience store items, as well as a seasonal restaurant. Belton Lake was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with the construction of Belton Dam in 1954. The 12,300-acre lake is located on the Leon River, just upstream of the confluence of the Leon River and the Little River. Belton Lake is a long, narrow and winding lake with many curves and coves, providing some of the best camping, fishing, and boating in Central Texas.

Planned to stay for two nights. Left after one. There was one rowdy campsite with drinkers, loud music and loud talking. Staff wouldn’t do anything about it saying “quiet time starts at 10pm”. At 10 pm they were still loud with music blaring. Staff would not answer their phone after 10pm. By 11pm we were fed up and went over to the drunks and asked them to be quiet. They were jerks, but complied. Didn’t want to deal with them again. Stay here if this is your idea of fun.

The shelter was initially great. Until it rained. Then shelter #3 flooded, had several inches of water, then several inches of mud, rendering it inhabitable. Apparently this has been an issue with this particular shelter. The toilets in the nearby bathroom tended to clog and only one of 2 toilets in both men's and women's were in working order. Apparently this is an ongoing issue with this particular bathroom. All the other toilets in the other bathrooms in other areas were fine. Otherwise, the area was beautiful, and it was convenient to have hiking trails so close by. If it hadn't rained we wouldn't have known about the flooding and would've thought the shelter was wonderful. It was an awesome place to see the eclipse! The camp host was accessible, helpful, and friendly.

Stayed 5 days to relax and watch the full eclipse - which we saw perfectly from our camp site! Even though the forecast called for overcast. Our site (26) was very spacious and well shaded. We will be coming again.

The park is beautiful and well maintained by the friendly volunteer staff. It is well laid out on the banks of Belton lake. The dump station is very accessible and one of the cleanest I have seen.

Really beautiful spot, spacious campsite with covered picnic table. Roadrunners nesting right next to our site! Bathrooms a little run down.

The campground was perfect for us. We got in past dark but our site was so level we didn't have to unhook until the next day. It's spacious, clean, and so well maintained. The hosts were the best. Very attentive, friendly, and accommodating. Not sure how much we will be camping again in Texas, but this is a campground we would definitely return to.
