Screen shelter Scr-05 and site were clean. Overall a good experience. However there are a lot of maintenance issues. Door would not shut completely and was held closed by a string. The door latch was bent and very difficult to put a lock on. There was a hole in the front screen near the door. Missing trim boards on a quarter of the windows (Nails still sticking out of the window frames) .
The vinyl window covers were sticky (Probably from campers using duct tape to hold them from blowing). Many of the latches for window covers were missing or bent. Ridgeline window coverings were duct taped to the cieling. Several of the straps which hold the coverings up were broken or missing. If you plan on camping in this shelter on a stormy weekend, you and your things will likely get wet. The Leona Park Bathroom and boat ramp lights are burnt out. Making it very difficult to see the ramp while backing down at night and early morning.
Rather than repair the extra damage and HAZARDS made by Duct Tape, Nails and Staples used by campers to temporarily fix these defects. I'm pretty sure it's cheaper to keep them maintained?

Lost electrical power during our stay. Grass was high in the park. We stayed in space 28 across from the bath house which also needs repair.

Was a nice site by the edge of the lake. However, the site had not been maintained well as there we high weeds around the campsite. Took my own weed-eater and cut some of them down around the pavilion and the power pedestal. There apparently was a lot of power usage Saturday evening as there were several brown-outs during the evening hours causing the A/C to cycle on/off and other appliances recycle.
I would consider going back but I would be prepared for the site being a bit unkept.

This was a great campground and our site was really nice as well. The available shower/toilets were in need of some attention, but the campground overall was beautiful. We'll go back for sure!

Always get a screened shelter because it is just easier for us and very close to the water to fish! The site is well kept and cleaned between campers. Bathroom within walking distance makes it great! Always have a good time

This is the first time we stayed here, we usually stay at Texas state parks.. this was absolutely beautiful..lots of deer ..wildlife.. the lake level was low .. but we still had a great time on our kayaks.. we stayed at the screen shelters.. the screen shelters have window panels that you can roll down.. my 4 star is because of the restroom/shower area could be updated by adding fans and locks to the stall doors... the staff was very friendly... peaceful place..we will be back🏕😁
