This was a wonderful trip and I am so excited people read the emails that had been sent prior years discussing the need to replace the tarp/windows and fix some broken things in the shelters. I have been coming with my family to these shelters since the 90's. We love them but things had been going down hill for about 10 years.
Now-the park is well kept and buildings are maintained better than I have seen in a decade. Thank you for taking old feedback and restoring this amazing shelter camp ground area. The volunteers who stayed even in the govt shutdown were kind, helpful, and patient.

Nice campground. We were lucky and had a nice shady spot. So nice that the table area is covered. Enjoyed the swimming area.

Due to me booking last, I was in an area were there was no trash bins, only when you at the exit. When we asked the said that side should have been closed. Otherwise it was good.

Nice ,quiet area to camp in. Lots of boating and fishing enthusiasts were there but the campground is separate so you just see them go by on the way to the boat ramp.
This location is close to Temple and Baylor Scott & White Hospital in case you’re visiting someone who is in the hospital.
