The park volunteers are very friendly and keep the trails clear and the facilities clean.
When I accidentally reserved a site that wasn’t the one I was actually aiming for, the park host was happy to help see if my preferred site was still available and made that change for me.
We like camping here, and the trails are easy and short, perfect for hiking with small children.

We stayed in the A Loop. The park itself is very nice and convenient to Texarkana and the hwy 59/ I 30 corridor. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. However; the bathroom and shower house was in need of a deep cleaning and some repair. While well stocked, there was a lot of “old dirt” and I could tell it had not been throughly cleaned in some time.

The campground is well maintained with lots of trees. Some of the sites have full hook ups that are away from the lake. There are some pull thru sites along the water’s edge. The park has easy access, although the road in is a little rough. The only draw back is that the bathrooms are dated. The staff does a great job of keeping them clean. I have no concerns about cleanliness. Overall, a good place to camp.
