Great week at this park with wonderful weather overall. It was very windy at time but was still enjoyable.
Lovely lake to sit by a campfire and watch the water. I only got to have two evenings with a fire because of the strong winds.
Close to Waco and I spent 1 of my 7 days at the campground going to the Magnolia Silos— best part of that were the wonderful food trucks!!!! Also visited the Texas Ranger Museum—— a MUST SEE! Very interesting and LOTS of info. Actually, too much info to read all of it, unless one spends hours and hours, so pick and choose, but DO NOT MISS THE MOVIE—- it gives you so much background and information from the start of the organization to present day!!!!
I walked quite bit of the park and saw the other two camping sections that were open ( the group camping area and the full hookups section) and all were nice!
The only thing I would say needs attention is building table shelters at all the spots. The sun is too hot to sit out in it and the wind is too strong to put the awning out most of the time. I brought a very sturdy canopy and used it. It withstood the wind, but there were moments when I was concerned. A permanent structure would be a valuable addition to every site.
Again, had a lovely time and WILL be back!

Airport Park is an excellent campground with full hookups. The sites are roomy and kept in good repair. Lake Waco is a beautiful lake.

Great time, campground was in good condition, and we appreciate all that the staff do. A gate house person is really needed most of the time, makes things much more secure. Saw some interesting people driving around that would not normally be allowed to do so if a gate attendant was on duty.
