This park and Screen shelter site 007 was the best. The view of the lake from the site was amazing. It was too windy suddenly by night till 2nd day of our stay.
- Shelters are big and have clean base but mesh inside has broken spots.
- 2 outlets weren't working
- Carry a broom to clean webs if you need to
- Overall site is well maintained.
- Bathroom is a bit far by walk. Esp for little kids or urgent need -carry a portable one if you can else a drive/bike to the nearest restroom.
- 2 showers were not working.
Loads of dry wood around can be used for a great campfire.
We loved our stay and would recommend and plan to come back in future.

Disappointing. I've never had any trouble at an RV camping site in this park. But the shelter experience was entirely different. First of all, the shelter was filthy dirty. There is no clean-up by (non-existent) park personnel in-between guest visits. I had to clean up food left on the floor of the shelter and outside as well. Second, the description says "screened" which is a joke...maybe half of the screen is still there so basically you are enclosed by chicken wire. There weren't any mosquitoes or flies so that wasn't a big deal. But people have pried open the cage in various places for some reason. Since you can't lock the shelter if you should leave, then you run the risk of your stuff getting stolen. Third, the description says "ceiling fan"; well, there were only two of four blades attached and a third blade was on the floor. Thankfully I brought my own fan. On the upside, the view of the lake, picnic table and fire ring were great. And there was a lock on the door to lock yourself in at night which made me feel more safe. I was told budget cuts have affected all USACE parks which is really a shame.

This is a beautiful park with views of Waco Lake from nearly every camping spot. While there are no hiking trails in the campground, if one walks all roads it gives a nice 5 mile walk. The restrooms are typical for a pubic park-not as clean as your home, but work when you need it. We had a tornado threat when we stayed recently and the restroom was a "good" tornado shelter as it was fully concrete-roof too! Being called Airport Park means you will hear aircraft, but we didn't hear them after dark. You are very close to everything for shopping yet have a nice feel being on a lake. We are going back to stay again! Great value for the price!

Overall, our experience was great, however, we do have a few observations/recommendations. First, the lack of a playground for kids is a rather puzzling omission. Our grandson visited and that would have been a great resource. Second, the bathrooms did not have handwashing soap -- not very sanitary. Third, the dump stations sewer tap was on a platform elevated about a foot above the road level. Our sewer line was, therefore, below the tap, necessitating a constant maneuvering in order to empty the sewage. The absence of a functional water hose (the nozzle was bent in) meant we were unable to connect to our camper's black water tank flush to thoroughly clean out our tank and hose.
