What Guests Are Saying
Midway Park offers a beautiful, well-maintained environment with shaded RV spaces, clean showers, and friendly staff, making it a great place for camping. Guests appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and scenic views of Lake Waco, as well as the helpfulness of the park hosts. However, some reviewers noted issues such as high grass, highway noise, and occasional rudeness from staff, indicating that the park could benefit from some maintenance and improved communication.

The campground needed some TLC, but the views were beautiful. You cannot drive into the campground after 10, even if you’re a paying camper.

Since we discovered the Midway Park campground several years ago, we have made it a point to stop there as we drive thru central Texas. It is quiet, clean, and offers shady, level campsites with clean bathroom/showers. And, we have always encountered respectful, friendly, and helpful campers. We only stayed one night this time, but our visit was still pleasant and relaxing. The Campground Host family couldn't have been more welcoming and courteous. Hopefully, we will have an opportunity to stay longer on our next trip.

Great little campground on the edge of Waco close to shopping and restaurants. Host was very friendly and available for assistance. Only one concern during our visit, the campground could use a good mowing. Grass was over a foot tall in some areas. Other than that, great experience!

We always camping at Midway. This trip, not so much. The grass had not been mowed in quite a while and was really tall. Needless to say, my wife and I came home with chigger bites all over our legs and ankles.

The bathroom and shower house is definitely due for some minor upgrades at the least. Not being able to come and go as needed is tough when you are working in town for things with weird hours. I almost didn’t make it in one night before the gate closed and I had to park in a lot because I didn’t get off work until 11PM on another night. I understand why the policy is in place, but it makes it hard to want to book here again if I work the same type of hours.
Staff was friendly, easy online reservations, the price per night wasn’t terrible, and the campground is pretty peaceful.
