What Guests Are Saying
Midway Park offers a beautiful, well-maintained environment with shaded RV spaces, clean showers, and friendly staff, making it a great place for camping. Guests appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and scenic views of Lake Waco, as well as the helpfulness of the park hosts. However, some reviewers noted issues such as high grass, highway noise, and occasional rudeness from staff, indicating that the park could benefit from some maintenance and improved communication.

Beautiful well maintained park with sites on the water. New covers being put over picnic tables while we were there. Easy access to town, shopping and events.

We love how big the lake is! We saw some pretty big fish while kayaking.
Definitely more of an RV camping kind of place. Most of the sites don’t really have a good place to put a regular tent. There are a lot of trees near the sites though. So you do get a decent amount of shade. There is a playground right behind site #9 if you have kids with you. There isn’t really a “good” place to get into the water unless you are using the boat ramp. We found a spot where we could slide into the water. It was a little difficult getting out because of the mud. It was still really fun. We’ll definitely be back!

Great place but needs some attention. Grass is grown up and poor care for the park.

We had a lovely stay at Midway Park. Shaded sites, electrical hook-ups, water, showers. For what else could one possibly want in a campsite?

Beautiful stop for the night. Park is in great condition, easy to get in and out. Camp host was friendly and answered questions. We were only here for one night, will be back again for a longer stay to explore Waco.

Not a park I would ever stay at again…
We arrived later than planned due to highway construction, but still before 10PM, and the gate was already locked. Our family, plus 2 other groups (not with us) were all sitting at the gate trying to figure out what to do next. The park host even peeked out of his camper and then shut the door and turned off his lights. We contemplated turning on our gen and just staying in the parking lot, but there was an abandoned car with the windows shattered parked at the entrance of the driveway that made us look for an alternative option. We ended up having to drive down the road about 15 mins and pay $55 for a last minute reservation at another camp ground.
When we were finally able to check in the next day, a huge group was spread out along our campsite and the sites beside us taking up portions of our site and all the way down to the shore line. They had a dozen plus fishing poles and trash spread out everywhere making it impossible for my kids to fish, when we specifically booked this site for the water access. I understand that the water is for everyone, but they could have booked a water front site or gone to an unoccupied site vs taking up the entire space along our site. The same group had 10+ cars in their site and were blaring music loud enough that we could hear it inside our camper.
I was curious as to why this park had so many sites open on a summer weekend, when all of the Temple / Belton / Salado parks were 100% booked. But now I know exactly why.

Site 30 had as many as 8 cars parked in the grass and three times the allowed guest. when we got ready to leave, we had to drag tree limbs across our camper top=very scary=PLEASE TRIM YOUR TREES=we have a normal 28 ft bumper pull if it would have been a motorhome or fifth wheel we would have had to back out a one-way street.
