What Guests Are Saying
Lofers Bend West offers beautiful views and well-maintained campsites, making it a popular choice for repeat visitors. The park is clean, quiet, and family-friendly, with great fishing opportunities and friendly staff. However, some areas, including restrooms, could benefit from maintenance and improved water quality.

This park, Lofers Bend West, and all other Corp parks on Lake Whitney, Texas, are in desperate need of attention. They had NOT been mowed this year (2024). The shredders finally came out on Thursday, JULY 11th, then finishing mowers came out on Friday, July 12th. TWO holidays, Memorial Day & the 4th of July and the end of the school year (summer vacation) all took place with hundreds of visitors coming to Lake Whitney parks enduring tall grass, weeds, stickers, dead branches laying around, unable to play on the playground, etc. Also, over the winter and spring months NO TREE TRIMMING was done! Our NEW RV was scratched in several places and so was our boat canopy. Shamefully, people had to bring their own lawnmowers to mow around their campers, just to be able to enjoy their spot. NO PARK HOST was also concerning! Leaving open spots available to ANYONE without a reservation to use. I assume with the deterioration of Lake Whitney Parks, it would be an outlandish request to ask the Corp to meet the desire for more 50amp sites to accommodate the fact that Most RVs purchased in recent years are equipped for 50amps?? As a Lake Whitney resident, I used to be proud of our lake facilities, highly recommending Lake Whitney as a beautiful vacation spot to family and friends. I now hesitate, adding all of the above listed warnings to everyone interested. To the Lake Whitney Branch of the USACE: Please take better care of our parks, as an investment in our Beautiful Lake & the popularity of the Whitney area, it's people and merchants. Thank you for considering the suggestions for improvement in this review, as these are not only My opinions, but also the concerns of Everyone my husband and I have spoken with on our 3 camping trips to Lake Whitney this year.

Trees need trimmed! All around the dump station limbs are too low and drag top of campers. Roads need repairs. Park needs cleaned!

The trip would have been good if we would have had attendants at the entrance and also closing of the gate at night so we did not have to be afraid of our stuff being stolen. The whole time we kept having groups of people coming in taking over spots using the electricity and water without paying for it making our trip very uncomfortable. We had very little security also. They better hurry up and get attendants back soon or that camping is going to actually get dangerous. My brother was paid for his space till Sunday but he left Saturday afternoon and we left to go eat and when we got back to our camper a girl had set up a tent with lights in that spot which she did not have to pay for. I know we were there after the flooding, but I think the mowers should have been running in the park where people were paying to camp.
